The cost of living crisis was the main factor leading to a huge increase in those seeking help from Llangollen Food Share to feed themselves and their families. Over 60% more people were helped in the week before Christmas 2023 than in the previous year, from 100 to 160 people. 966kg of food was distributed – enough to provide 2400 meals.
Thanks to everyone who has completed our consultation during January. We had over 300 detailed responses from you to let us know what you find most helpful, what we do well and what we could do better. We’re going to receive the final report next week and will be acting on your suggestions!
The answers you’ve given will also help to show how much we are needed and to support grant applications to get money to help the Food Share continue.

CHANGE OF VENUE for WEDNESDAY 20TH DECEMBER ONLY
For this week only, our usual weekly parcel session for food support for those struggling to afford food will be held at St Collen’s Community Hall, Regent Street (instead of at Llangollen Food Share). Use the side door closest to the church.
We will open early at 11.45am for festive food and drinks then run the parcel session as usual 1-2pm.
Do not struggle over Christmas. Contact us ASAP.
Our stall at the Llangollen Christmas Festival raised almost £500 for our Charity. Thanks to Shop Around the Corner for donating a lovely Charlie Bear for our ‘Guess the Name’ competition. For our amazing raffle prizes we say thanks to Bearded Men Adventures (voucher for 2 for whitewater rafting) Llangollen Wharf (Family horse drawn boat trip voucher) Wild Pheasant Hotel (afternoon tea for two voucher) Georges Cafe (afternoon tea for 2 voucher) and Deeside Cafe (£20 voucher to spend i store). Great day and so many lovely people stopped by to take part in the raffle and the name the teddy, and so many made donations too.
